A Nation in Pain

Nearly half the American adult population deals with some form of chronic pain. And yet, as Foreman aptly points out, we are not addressing this epidemic. Most public policy and any attention from the news cycle only hits on the opioid wars and serves to demonize those in real pain who have no other choice but to medicate. The author looks at the real public policy issues as well as a variety of alternative therapies and lifestyle changes that can potentially help those suffering with chronic pain. This book is well researched and written by a person who is in the medical profession and has personally suffered with chronic pain. As a person who has fought a long battle with debilitating pain, I recommend this book for anyone who suffers with chronic pain or knows another who has experienced chronic pain and the dearth of resources and empathy our society has to offer.
