Artist
The coloring books that fill my art chest,
Boxes of crayons and construction paper,
I’d use these all at your request,
Except I’d rather color your newspaper.
It’s more fun to paint rainbows on your lazy chair,
Or draw daisies on your business report.
And I know you’ll rip out all your hair
When you see the tulips on your davenport.
There’s your resume, your silk neck tie,
That boring brown dining table, chairs and all,
And Mommy’s new red dress, that I must try.
But, I think I’ll start with this clean, white, wall.
