The Disaster Artist

This is the story of The Room, the absolute worst movie ever made and then launched in LA theaters. It is also the story of an unlikely and touching friendship between a wealthy social misfit who is determined to make the film despite a complete lack of experience or cinematic artistry and a co-actor in the film. Greg Sestero walks the reader through the production of the film with all its fits and starts and bizarre scenes and dialogue. He also recounts the friendship that he develops with Tommy Wiseau, the strangely wealthy producer, writer, and director of the film. Hilariousness jumps out from every corner and each time it does, you might think that things can not get any more bizarre, and then things do, indeed, immediately reach new heights of disfunction and craziness. This book is endlessly entertaining and shows that truth is stranger than fiction, passion and perseverance pay off eventually (sometimes in very unexpected ways), and the key to real friendship is sticking with a person despite their faults and failures.
