The Woman in Cabin 10

This is another great thriller from the writer of In a Dark, Dark Wood. The story concept and setting have been compared to Agatha Christie novels. Without giving the plot away, this is about a woman who sees something horrible happen on a cruise ship, but can’t convince the people around her that anything is amiss. The nay sayers are so vehement that the main character has to struggle not to call her own sanity into question. There are twists in every scene that leave the reader wondering who is telling the truth, who is lying, and how much could be due to the main character’s own psychological flaws. Ware creates a situation and set of characters that are very realistic, while at the same time the reader is not ever sure who to believe. The story will have you twisted up, guessing, and worrying about the main character till the very end. One aspect of Ware’s writing that I like is that there are so many layers to her stories that it is entertaining to reread them and pick out more details a second time around.
